Girls Camp

This was Emily and Savanah's first year at Girls Camp. They were both pretty nervous to go! Emily was more worried about being away from home than Savanah - I keep telling them how lucky they were to have each other! I can't say this was easy for me either...I sat with them in their room Sunday night before they left and we all had a cry together. I'm not sure if that helped or not! They did have a great time at camp and had some really great experiences which I am grateful for. They also feel much closer to the older girls in our ward and really love going to young woman's now and don't want to miss anything! I have to say the girls and I were pretty excited to see each other Friday morning - both girls got off the bus and came running to me - so excited to be home!!! Friday, June 10, 2011

Birthday and a Flood!

I was a little disappointed my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, and to top it off when we were just leaving to church we discovered our basement had flooded! We had a pipe break in the backyard and it ran all night. Not only was our basement flooded but our yard and our neighbors yard as well. We had some great neighbors that missed some of their meetings to help us get things under control and a great brother-in-law that came straight over and fixed the broken pipe!
By the end of the day things were looking up and we had a BBQ and root beer floats to celebrate. Jeff and I had gone out Saturday to shop and go to dinner, and all my great friends and neighbors came throughout the day Sunday to wish me a happy birthday and drop off gifts which made everything seem better!

They're 12!!!

Emily and Savanah are 12 and loving it!!! The best part they say about turning 12 is no more primary - they love Young Woman's! This year the girls were going to have their first boy/girl party but a few days before the party they realized it might be a little awkward having the boys over. Instead of a party they invited their girl friends and a few boys from the neighborhood to play night games and have smores - it turned out great and they had a fun night!
