Girls Camp

No pictures but I was there!  I hadn't been to girls camp since I was in Young Women's!  I only spent the day with the girls but it was fun to see what they were all doing.  I ended up going on the day of the rope challenge course.  So much fun until the end when we were required to go on a huge rope swing.  Totally secured, but a little embarrassing to be heaved up to the top of a pole and let go to swing in front of everyone :)

We also had a stake fireside and Jenny Phillips came to speak and sing, it was beautiful in the mountains listening to her, so nice to be away from the regular mom routine.

I think it was hard on Emily and Savanah to have me there.  They were so excited to see me come, but didn't like me telling them what to do while I was there :)  and when it was time to leave the water works started from Emily.  She really wanted to come home with me even though she was having a great time at camp.  Hopefully next year I will be able to stay a little longer with them!

I was called to be the Laural Adviser in our ward one week before youth conference!  I was off with the youth to Manti for a fun day.  We visited many historical sites, played games, ate the famous turkey dinner and watched the pageant.  I hadn't seen the pageant since i was about nineteen years old, and sadly I didn't like it at all.  This time I enjoyed it so much - clearly in a different, better place in my life :)  We are excited to take our family down next summer so all the kids can go!

Father's Day

Jeff left early in the morning to go fish with Uncle Blake at Strawberry Reservoir.  When they got home Jeff got a quick nap and we were off to Grandpa and Grandma's for the best hamburgers and family time!

Stewart Falls

What an adventure this hike was!  Jeff and I weren't sure where we were going, first mistake!  We took advice from someone who clearly wasn't hiking with kids and took the longer, much harder trail to Stewart Falls.  Luckily we all made it, but the little ones were way to tired to hike back the long way.  After asking around we found the shorter trail that leads you to Sundance Resort.   We decided to split up.  Jeff and Savanah would hike back the way we came, get the car and meet us at Sundance.  I would take Emily, Justin, Ethan and Kate.  We only had one phone, second mistake!   Jeff and Savanah did find us which was lucky since they had no idea where our trail would end!  In the end it was fun and we laughed pretty hard at ourselves and the adventure we had :)

7 Peaks

We had a pretty exciting day at 7 Peaks!  Justin and Chandler witnessed a drowning, luckily we read on the news the little girl did live, but the outcome didn't look good.  Saw another person taken away in a stretcher with a major head injury, had to wait two different times for a half hour to use the wave pool and the lazy river due to poop!  What a day!  Can't say we will be back any time soon but we did have a fun day with each other and friends.

Teenagers!

I can't believe we have teenagers in the house!!! The girls are great and we love them but definitely can tell they are growing up :)  This year for their birthday they wanted boys and girls to come over.  We had games set up in the backyard with pizza, drinks and snacks.  When it started to get dark we set up a huge movie screen and they all watched an outdoor movie.  They both thought it was pretty fun!

They have had such a fun first year of junior high and loved every minute of it, especially the social part :)  They both have made a lot of new friends and are so excited to start 8th grade after the summer.  They also pulled off straight A's the entire year and joined National Honors Society.  We are so proud of the young woman they are becoming!
