It was such a fun trip and such an incredible place to see. We had a hard time deciding which we liked better this summer - Zion's or Yellowstone? Ether way we feel pretty lucky we were able to experience both as a family.

Yellowstone
Just as we finished unpacking and cleaning up from Zions it was time to leave for Yellowstone! We have wanted to take the kids to Yellowstone for a long time now and decided to squeeze in a trip between Zions and when school started. We are so glad we did! This time we really camped - no trailer, just tents. We stayed at Grants Village which is a camp ground right next to Yellowstone Lake.

Zion's Family Reunion
We met Eric and Marisa's family, Scott and Julies family in Zion's for a little vacation/get-together. Unfortunately we missed the Heringer's this time. We camped at Watchman Camp Ground. I was pretty nervous about camping - first time ever with our kids! We did rent a trailer which I loved, especially in the heat! Our family found out we really love camping!
Some of the hikes did were Canyon Outlook (drove through tunnel first), Emerald Pools, part of the Narrows, Angels Landing/Scouts Peak, Weeping Rock, and Court of the Patriarchs.
Since we were so close to St. George we drove in one afternoon to have a visit with Grandpa Taylor - so good to see him!
The most fun was being with siblings and cousins for several days/nights - we had a great time!

One Direction
Savanah's friend Katy invited her to go to the One Direction concert! She was so excited - 5th row seats! I was so nervous :) I will admit it is HARD to let me my kids grow up especially when they are doing things that don't involve me or another parent. I had a good talk with Katy's mom before they were off which calmed my nerves and totally embarrassed Savanah. Katys older sister and friend also went with them so I felt like there was some supervision :) They had a great time and I was glad Savanah was able to go and see what a concert was like!
